U.S. Embassy opened its American Center Warsaw in the Warsaw Public Library on Ulica Koszykowa 26/28. The Center is the 23rd distinct American Space in Poland. The U.S. Department of State has designated the American Center Warsaw as one of 12 priority American Spaces in Europe. The American Center Warsaw epitomizes the importance the United States places on strengthening U.S. – Polish relations through increased sharing of information, resources, and people-to-people exchanges.
The American Center Warsaw will offer a wide range of programs and services, including a variety of materials providing information about the United States; information on study in the United States; American English language learning sessions with native speakers; opportunities to experience U.S. culture (e.g., films, exhibits, concerts); as well as engagement with Polish and American alumni of U.S. exchange programs.
The Center will serve as a hub to launch nation-wide initiatives with the Embassy’s American Corners facilities located in Gdansk, Katowice, Lodz, Lublin, Radom, and Wroclaw. These initiatives will include increasing IT literacy through Massive Open Online Courses, MakerSpace activities, and coding workshops on 3D design, website and mobile apps development, and robotics.
The American Center will offer courses on entrepreneurship which will include learning how to develop a business plan, product testing, create a marketing strategy, product launching, and how to be competitive in a global marketplace. The Center will provide mentors who will offer product feedback and professional development advice.
The American Center Warsaw will also launch workshops for women and girls, including seminars and mentorship opportunities on business development, marketing, and communications skills. The mentors will help empower emerging women leaders to play a greater role in their local communities.
