U.S. Ambassador to Poland Paul W. Jones hosted the American Chamber of Commerce’s monthly membership meeting at his residence on June 7, 2017. The breakfast gave the Ambassador the opportunity to address AmCham’s general membership and to have an informal discussion with them about issues in U.S. – Polish relations.
Ambassador Jones made opening remarks that touched on recent meetings between high ranking Polish Government officials and members of the new U.S. Administration, including the recent meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Morawiekci and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. He noted that with 4,500 U.S. troops in Poland, our defense relationship is going strong and highlighted our work to help Poland strengthen its energy independence, announcing that the first shipment of U.S. LNG will arrive tomorrow at the port in Swinoujscie.
AmCham members asked about the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, continued U.S. – Polish collaboration on tech and innovaton and the recent U.S. decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.
