Media Invited to Observe Atlantic Resolve Aviation Rotation Readiness Demonstration in Poland

DRAWSKO POMORSKIE TRAINING AREA, Poland — The 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, will host Operation Thoroughbred 2017 here, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.

Media are invited to observe approximately 160 Soldiers as they conduct a readiness demonstration validating the unit’s preparedness since they’ve arrived from Fort Hood, Texas, as part of Atlantic Resolve.

Operation Thoroughbred is intended to increase the unit’s proficiency and preparedness to respond to any threat or crises.

The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade will train with NATO allies during its time in Eastern Europe, and replaces the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade as part of an ongoing heel-to-toe rotations of combat aviation assets.

Once attendance is confirmed, media will meet at the main gate of Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area Thursday, Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m. It is recommended for journalists to bring their own personal protective equipment.
