Demonstration Alert – U. S. Embassy, Warsaw (September 9, 2021)
Location: Downtown Warsaw
Event: Several demonstrations will occur in downtown Warsaw on September 10, 2021, beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m. The demonstrations are related to pay allowances in the current budget provisions. Ten groups totaling approximately 1,500 people plan to demonstrate by walking from the Dmowski roundabout and proceeding from Aleje Jerozolimskie, Nowy Świat, Plac Trzech Krzyży, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Matejki, Wiejska, Piękna, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Plac na Rozdrożu, Aleje Ujazdowskie to the Prime Minister’s Chancellery. There will be rallies at the Sejm, Ministry of Justice, and Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
Traffic congestion is expected in downtown Warsaw. U.S. citizens are urged to be cautious and take the following actions:
- Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Keep a low profile.
- Monitor local media for updates and potential additional demonstrations.
- Enroll in Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security updates.
