The Embassy Welcomes a New Member of the Board of the Fulbright Commission
The Embassy is pleased to announce that on February 20, 2015 Ambassador Stephen Mull appointed Ms. Magdalena Pavlak-Chiaradia to join the Board of Directors of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission. Currently Managing Director and Partner of ERM Polska, Ms. Pavlak-Chiaradia’s strong business and scientific background (geology/marine science degrees and MBA) will be a great asset to the organization, as the Fulbright Commission expands efforts to promote science, technology, and innovation initiatives. Ms. Pavlak-Chiaradia has served with distinction as co-Chairperson of the Shale Gas Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. She is also currently heading the “30 under 30” program for young professionals working for US-based companies in developing their management techniques.
The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission is the flagship program for educational and cultural exchange between the United States and Poland. Through its various exchange programs the Commission supports research, instruction and other educational activities of American and Polish students, scholars and institutions. It also administers visits and exchanges between American and Polish trainees, students, teachers, scholars and professors. Through sharing of ideas, knowledge, skills and individual experiences the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission contributes to the main goal of the Fulbright Program and increases mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Poland.
Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Program provides funding for students, scholars, teachers, and professionals to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools.
The Polish Fulbright Program is the largest in Eastern and Central Europe as well as the most prestigious and continuous academic exchange program between Poland and the United States. The general objective of the Polish Fulbright Commission is to conduct educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Through its various exchange programs, the Commission supports studies, research, instruction, and other educational activities of American and Polish educators, scholars, and institutions; it also administers visits and exchanges between the United States and Poland of students, trainees, scholars, teachers, instructors, and professors. In this way the Polish – U.S. Fulbright Commission contributes to the central goal of the Fulbright Program: to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Poland through the sharing of ideas, knowledge, skills, and individual experiences by means of educational and cultural exchange.
