On February 12, Cultural Attaché Dan Hastings met with the nine talented alumni of the Fulbright Program in Poland recently selected to serve as the first-ever Fulbright Ambassadors of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission.  The program is a new initiative of the Commission, which is headquartered in Warsaw, to honor the 60th anniversary of the Fulbright Program in Poland. The Ambassadors were chosen through an open competition from over 2,000 Polish alumni of the Fulbright program. Coming from different regions in Poland, the Fulbright Ambassadors’ chief role will be to promote the Fulbright program with students and academics at universities and research institutions all over the country. During their outreach, the Fulbright Ambassadors will share their experiences of studying, researching, or teaching in the United States; they will talk about the scholarship application process; and they will give tips on how to submit competitive applications.  The Fulbright Ambassadors will mainly operate in the following nine academic milieus in Poland:  Białystok, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Gliwice, Lublin, Poznań, Toruń, Warsaw and Wrocław. Would you like to invite an Ambassador to your university to inspire your students to consider a master’s degree or Ph.D in the United States?  If so, you can contact them here: https://fulbright.edu.pl/ambasadorzy/.

Here is to another 60 years – and more – of the Fulbright Program in Poland!
