Supporting Polish Innovation Through Collaboration

To promote innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities at the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in The Hague, the Embassy joined forces with the Dutch Embassy to support a “Road to GES” Poland event on May 23.

“Boosting Polish Startups at the Global Scale,” an official Road to GES event, brought together former Polish GES participants to share experiences and talk openly with a diverse audience of entrepreneurs, business mentors and mentees, representatives from companies, government agencies, IVLP alumni, and other innovators in the realm of Polish innovation and entrepreneurship.  The event was co-hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ron J.P.M. Dartel, and the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the United States, Eric Green.  Moderated by Richard Stephens of Poland Today, panelists Ela Raczkowska, CEO Vital Voices Poland; Katarzyna Dorsey Founder and CEO, Yosh.AI; and Joanna Nagadowska, Google Polska touched on many facets of entrepreneurship and innovation specific to the Polish context.

Earlier that week, the U.S. Embassy collaborated on the “Building Bridges” initiative together with the Canadian and Swiss Embassies, co-hosting a panel on “Energizing Cities of the Future” at the fourth annual Impact Conference in Krakow.  A joint U.S.-Canadian-Swiss initiative since 2016, Building Bridges shares innovative technology and development experiences and best practices from our three countries with key public and private sector audiences in Poland.  Our “Energizing Cities of the Future” event featured experts from Uber, ABB, and Clean Energy Compression who offered their expertise and innovative solutions about transportation and smart cities.

The panel featured Dariusz Wiatrak, Regional Sales Manager Europe & Russia, Clean Energy Compression; Ash Kebriti, CEE Regional Manager, UBER; and Przemyslaw Zakrzewski, Head of Software Development Center in Krakow, ABB.  Together, they explored elements needed for the development of an innovative clean transportation ecosystem and discussed how leveraging global partnerships with leading ecosystems can support the successful navigation of stringent regulatory processes, maintaining high levels of governance and integrity, fostering R&D, innovation, and collaboration.
