Chargé Awarded at Global Mentoring Walk

Chargé d’Affaires John Law spoke to over 200 participants at Vital Voices Poland’s 7th Annual Global Mentoring Walk on Saturday, March 3. Warsaw was the first city to start a series of events that will take place in over 151 cities, in 60 countries around the world. Several thousand men and women from almost all continents will take part in the project that supports, inspires and shapes future women leaders.

In his remarks, CDA Law highlighted the positive impact the mentoring relationship has and will have for mentors and mentees alike and spoke about the impact former mentors and strong women leaders, such as former Secretary of State, and one of the Vital Voices Global Partnership, Madeleine Albright, have had in his career.

Chargé Law was also honored with Vital Voices Poland’s Solidarity Award recognizing men who support women’s empowerment in working environment.

Jolanta Kwasniewska, former First Lady of Poland and Honorary President of Vital Voices Poland, and Nikos Kalaitzidakis (CEO of Coca Cola HBC) also addressed the attendees. The participants were treated to a surprise performance by Polish pop stars Wojciech Waglewski and Bartosz Łęczycki.

The participants took advantage of sunny weather and Lazienki Park’s beautiful surroundings to walk and share best practices, strengthening the role strong women leaders – both present and future – will have in Poland.
