July 1, 2018  U.S. Marines took part in a family picnic in Radom opening the “Kameralne Lato” festival. This year it is the 11th edition of “Kameralne Lato” – the National Film Meetings, which consists of a series of film and educational meetings (more: www.kameralnelato.pl ). During the event there was an opportunity to learn about American sports. The attraction was also a parade of historic cars, including American ones, presented by the Radomskie Klasyki car club. There was also good music performed by the Representative Orchestra of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice.

The embassy had the pleasure be a partner of this event within its Sports UP initiative aimed at strengthening relations between the United States and Poland through the promotion of sports, in particular American sports. It connects Poles, and especially the young generation, to the culture of sport in the USA and the values that sport brings – teamwork, responsibility, integration and tolerance.

The event is part of the embassy’s campaign “100 Years Together”, in which we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence and establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and the USA.
