On July 20 in Gdansk, PAO Frank Finver officially opened a photo exhibition of the American artist Jacqueline Livingston, entitled In the shade of Feminism. On the fringes of American Art of the 1960s and 1970s at the National Museum in Gdansk Gallery of Photography Zielona Brama.
Mr. Finver was joined by the guardians of late artist’s archives Leo Brisette and Bell Dennis and representatives of local authorities and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. The exhibition consists of forty early pieces referring to the two key phenomena in American society of the 1960s and 1970s: the second wave of feminism and the anti-war movement. It will be on display until October 28 and will be accompanied by a rich educational program organized in cooperation with the American Corner, Gdansk. The U.S. Embassy is a proud sponsor of all the events.
