As part of its longstanding support for Poland’s acclaimed Camerimage Festival that celebrates the art of cinematography, the U.S. Embassy proudly contributed again, this time to bringing to Torun, Poland a personal art exhibition of the famous American film director and global cultural icon David Lynch. The director of acclaimed films and TV productions such as Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and Twin Peaks, David Lynch has been associated with Camerimage for 17 years and was paying his fifth visit to the festival. His exhibit Silence and Dynamism opened on November 12 at the Centre of Contemporary Art in Torun and will be on display until February 18, 2018. The renowned American surrealist photographer Gregory Crewdson also opened his Cathedral of the Pines photo exhibition the same evening. Cultural Attaché Dan Hastings addressed the audience at the opening, thanking Lynch and the Camerimage organizers for their longstanding roles as cultural ambassadors between the United States and Poland.
