On September 1, 2017 Acting Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy and Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) visited U.S. troops deployed to Poznan and Powidz as part of U.S. Army Europe’s Atlantic Resolve mission. They also toured Polish facilities of 4th Infantry Division’s Mission Command Element and 21st TSC’s Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and were briefed on the regional and worldwide commitments of the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, including its presence in Poland and cooperation with Polish military. U.S. reassurance and support for the security of Poland and NATO allies was also discussed, particularly U.S. military presence in Poland, including the U.S. Army’s headquarters of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division (3/4 ABCT) in Żagań, and NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group in Orzysz (the U.S. is the Framework nation in Poland). Acting Assistant Secretary McCarthy and Senator Moran also expressed thanks and appreciation to Poland for hosting and supporting these U.S. and NATO deployments at Polish Armed Forces facilities.
