Don’t Miss the Return of the Memphis in Poland Festival (June 21-30)!

The Memphis in Poland Festival — www.memphisinpoland.org – makes its culturally delicious and musically powerful return to Poland later this month, from June 21-30 in three different Polish cities.  Debuting in 2015 as part of an international cultural festival that honored Polish culture in Memphis, Tennessee, the current iteration of the Memphis in Poland Festival debuted on Polish shores in 2017 when America’s southern culture and civil rights history visited the Tri-Cities of Sopot, Gdańsk, and Gdynia in 2017.  Now the dynamic festival returns to Poland in late June, this time including Warsaw and adding the scenic southwestern city of Bielsko-Biała to its geographic footprint.

For foodies and aficionados of the blues, jazz, and good old American rock ‘n’ roll, Memphis in Poland Festival is a can’t-miss event that will feature culinary shows, concerts, and educational sessions.  The festival will take place in various venues in Sopot from June 21-23, including performances by the Memphis Mix band and a fascinating presentation by Steve Masler of the Memphis Pink Palace Museum entitled: Memphis at 2000: The River, the Struggles for Civil Rights and the Rebirth of a Great City.

The program in Warsaw program will include free workshops for aspiring musicians (strings, guitars, vocals) and musical events production that will take place June 26 at the Hoover Square Dziekanka.  An evening concert by the Memphis Mix and workshop participants will follow at 7:00 pm at the Akwarium Club.  Instructor musicians will be the visiting faculty and students of the University of Memphis’ Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

The Memphis in Poland Festival will continue in beautiful Bielsko-Biała with southern food and music in the scenic city’s town square from June 28-30.
