Polish Parliamentarians Taking Part in “NATO Tour for Policy Makers”

On April 3-7, 2016, a delegation of eleven Members of Polish Parliament, representing all the parties, took part in the “NATO Tour for Policy Makers” program sponsored by the U.S. Embassy Warsaw and the U.S. Mission to NATO.  The delegation held meetings with NATO and U.S. officials at the NATO Head Quarters in Brussels, which included discussions on the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw, NATO’s Readiness Action Poland, and U.S. policy toward the Alliance.  As part of the tour, the delegation visited the USS ROSS destroyer at the Naval Station in Rota, Spain.  On board the delegation observed a demonstration of the Aeagis Ashore radar and weapons system.  The system is identical to the one that will be installed in Redzikowo in support of NATO’s Ballistic Missile Defense and the European Phased Adaptive Approach.  The U.S. Embassy Warsaw was honored to host representatives of the Polish Parliament on the tour, whose key goal was to further deepen Trans-Atlantic ties and understanding.

The NATO Tour for Policy Makers Program is US NATO’s premier exchange program, bringing policy-makers from NATO Member Nations to Brussels for detailed discussions about NATO policies and operations.  Briefers are drawn from the U.S. Mission, the NATO International Staff, and International Military Staff, Ally, and Partner delegations.  The program may also include a visit to another European NATO Member State.
