We welcome today’s announcement of an agreement between PGNiG and Centrica to export U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Poland – an ally and friend – over the next five years, a sign of our continued strengthening of commercial and energy security ties. We view this delivery as another step toward increased U.S. energy exports to Poland, a key objective for the bilateral relationship. U.S. natural gas exports are creating American jobs while diversifying Poland’s energy options and lowering energy prices. The United States is committed to ensuring that trusted partners and allies such as Poland enjoy access to secure, diverse sources of energy, including energy from the United States. We congratulate Poland for its impressive efforts to expand its sources of energy supplies and look forward to working with Poland in support of its energy security efforts in the future.
