PGNiG Signs Agreements with Venture Global LNG and Port Arthur LNG

We welcome yesterday’s announcement that Poland’s natural gas company PGNiG has signed agreements with Venture Global LNG and Port Arthur LNG to export U.S. liquefied natural gas to Poland over the next twenty years.  We view these agreements as a major step toward increased U.S. energy exports to Poland and Europe, a key objective for the economic and strategic success of our bilateral relationship.

U.S. natural gas exports create American jobs and expand our allies’ access to secure, diverse sources of energy.  As the President said when he visited Warsaw last summer, the United States is committed to securing alternate sources of energy for Europe, so that Poland and its neighbors are never again held hostage by a single supplier of energy.  We commend Poland for its exemplary efforts to expand its energy sources and look forward to continued work with Poland in support of its energy security.
