DRAWSKO POMORSKIE TRAINNG AREA, Poland – The closing ceremonies for Resolute Castle 18 will be held at the Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland, at 10 a.m. Aug. 27, 2018.
Resolute Castle 18 is a six-month exercise supported by the South Carolina National Guard, which focuses on building and reinforcing training areas throughout Poland and Romania. This enables U.S. units to assemble forces quickly, conduct rotational exercises alongside their multinational counterparts, and demonstrate deterrence while in a complex security environment.
Resolute Castle 18 assists the U.S. and its Allies to make strides toward interoperability by continuously training together and implementing innovative solutions to common engineering problems.
During Resolute Castle 18, engineers from the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, Army National Guard and Seabees, partnered with engineers from Romania, Poland, Denmark, Netherlands and the United Kingdom to complete engineer projects in Romania and Poland.
Media representatives are invited to attend the ceremony and media briefing hosted by the commanders following the ceremony at 10:45 a.m.
The media brief will focus on Resolute Castle 18 – a multinational, joint training exercise for U.S. Army and NATO engineers that supports Atlantic Resolve.
Media members will meet at the gate with a photo ID at 9:30 a.m. to be credentialed and gain access to the installation.
Media wishing to attend should RSVP no later than Aug. 22, to SFC Kimberly Calkins, Resolute Castle Public Affairs Officer, at kimberly.d.calkins.mil@mail.mil or +49 (0)162.105.1250.
