On April 13th, President Andrzej Duda awarded Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe with the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.
During his visit to Poland, General Scaparrotti took part in the official welcome of the NATO Battalion Group headed by the U.S. 2nd Cavalry Regiment. The NATO Battalion Group consists of American, Polish, British, and Romanian soldiers, and is stationed in Poland as a result of the 2016 NATO summit in Warsaw. The soldiers are here to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.
