On Thursday, August 24, U.S. Ambassador to Poland Paul W Jones visited School for Leaders for the Polish Community Abroad sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This year’s program includes 23 participants from Canada and the United States and focuses on the Polish Diaspora in North America. Once back in their home communities after the program, the participants will be able to use their new knowledge to establish contacts and promote Poland overseas.
School for Leaders for the Polish Community Abroad is an annual event, now in its ninth edition, which includes workshops, lectures, meetings and tours for competitively selected members of the Polish Diaspora in the United States and Canada between the ages of 20-40 who have demonstrated themselves as socially active representatives of Polish communities overseas. The program’s goal is to develop the attendees’ leadership abilities to participate actively and consciously in their local and Polish communities. This year the program was funded by the Polish Senate.
