Special Advisor for International Disability Rights Judith Heumann will travel to Poland, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, and Bosnia from September 26 to October 10, 2015.

Ms. Heumann will participate in the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting of the Organization for Security and Co operation in Europe (OSCE) as a part of the official U.S. delegation.  She will also participate in other conferences and meet with a broad range of government and civil society representatives to discuss issues of mutual concern related to the rights of persons with disabilities.

The focus of her trip will be on the U.S. experience with disability rights laws and the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (the ADA), as well as the implementation of disability rights laws, the international independent living movement, and the importance of governments and disabled persons’ organizations working together to advance the rights of persons with disabilities.
