Scott Nathan, U.S. State Department’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, is visiting Poland this week to promote PLUS-IP and the opportunities it provides for industrial collaboration between Poland and the United States. Scott Nathan and Deputy Minister Włodzisław Duch from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education will lead the U.S. and Polish delegations at the second-annual PLUS-IP meeting in Warsaw on October 7. During his visit in Warsaw, Special Representative Nathan will meet with representatives of American and Polish businesses, academic institutions, and government officials.

PLUS IP (Poland-U.S. Innovation Program) is a public-private partnership that brings the nexus of government, business, and academia to advance innovation through joint venture and joint research and development projects between the United States and Poland. The two countries are sharing best practices and expertise to replicate successful U.S. innovation models such as the Research Triangle and Silicon Valley in Poland.  PLUS-IP’s goal is to support Polish scientists, and its main objective is to raise funds for research and the promotion of Polish science on the international stage.
