Problems with delivery of packages from non-EU countries

On July 1, 2021, the European Union introduced new tax laws regarding duties and VAT fees levied on letters/documents sent to the Embassy from outside the European Union (EU). The resulting fees are collected from the recipient.

Letters or packages with low declared value and/or containing only documents should be exempt from these fees. Recently however, the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw was demanded to pay the fees for several packages of documents sent to the FBU via express delivery services of national Post Offices in countries outside the EU. We are currently investigating the situation and we hope to ensure uninterrupted delivery in the future. Nevertheless, until the issue is resolved we may expect delays in receiving documents sent via Post Office express services. You should take it into account when submitting evidence from outside the EU or consider an alternate delivery method.
