Things That Must Be Reported
It is important to advise Social Security Administration about all facts and changes in your status, which can affect your benefits or could result in additional benefits for family members. You can read more about it here (PDF 420 KB). The following things must be reported:
- Change of address, telephone number or bank account number;
- Work outside the U.S.
- If you return to work or your disability improves (this pertains to disability benefits recipients)
- Change in marital status
- Change in parental circumstances
- Death of beneficiary
- Eligibility for a pension other than Social Security (also foreign)
