Ambassador Mosbacher gave remarks on U.S.-Polish relations before 60 guests and media at residence on September 14 entitled “U.S. Ambassadors to Poland: From Hugh Gibson to Georgette Mosbacher – 100 Years and Beyond.” In her remarks, the Ambassador outlined her policy priorities, including greater economic cooperation and increased trade; energy diversification and security; and strengthening of our security relationship, including cyber and disinformation threats. The Ambassador stated Poland is developing dynamically and that she wanted to grow trade ties, specifically mentioning US LNG exports, which are helping Poland address its energy security. The Ambassador stressed that the U.S.-Polish alliance was strong due to our shared values. The Ambassador used the occasion to introduce herself as a product of the American Midwest.
The event also included the introduction of the book “An American in Warsaw,” a collection of writings by the first American ambassador to Poland, Hugh S. Gibson, which was previewed by its author Vivian Hux Reed and a contributor Jan-Roman Potocki. Znak Publishing House president Henryk Wozniakowski also made references to the book and its historical parallels and modern lessons.
