On April 26 the U.S. Air Force Europe Band The Jazz Ambassadors completed their nine day tour of Poland with a grand finale concert at the spectacular Szczecin Philharmonic Hall. The Jazz Ambassadors performed yet another fantastic mix of Glen Miller hits and contemporary jazz compositions to the enthusiastic reception of nearly a full house of 1,000 people! The highlight of the event was a surprise appearance of Maestro Rune Bergman, the artistic director of the Szczecin Philharmonic and jazz lover, on trumpet. The band leader explained the USAFE band’s goodwill mission in Poland to local media before the show, saying they came to Poland to celebrate 100 years of Poland’s independence, the long-lasting alliance of the United States and Poland, and people-to-people relations between our two nations. The nine day tour included appearances at the international conference to honor Earth Day at the Babia Góra National Park (April 18), Rzeszów (April 19) and Kraków (April 20). The USAFE band then performed in Warsaw at the Royal Łazienki Theater (April 21) and at the Accent Club in Grudziądz (April 24) before concluding their grand finale concert at the Szczecin Philharmonic Hall.
