Ambassador Jones Hosts Visit of Supporters of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum

Ambassador Jones, members of the USHMM-led delegation, and Polish guests at the Ambassador's residence in Warsaw

On May 30 Ambassador Jones hosted a dinner for a delegation led by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) and representatives from the Polish government and organizations promoting Jewish culture and history.  During their tour of the region, the delegation visited Holocaust memorial sites in Ukraine and Poland, and other historical sites and museums.  The delegation also met with USHMM partners in both countries who help the USHMM to preserve, archive and share original source materials that objectively document the facts of the Holocaust.  In welcoming the group to Poland, the Ambassador spoke about importance of confronting painful history through open dialogue and ongoing education, and he shared information on U.S. government programs that support these efforts.  The Ambassador also referenced the new exhibit opened in April by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington called “Americans and the Holocaust.”  For more information on this exhibit, please visit https://exhibitions.ushmm.org/americans-and-the-holocaust/main.
