On September 7, a day after Georgette Mosbacher was credentialed by Poland’s President Andrzej Duda, the United States’ new – and 28th – Ambassador to the Republic of Poland familiarized herself more with Poland’s history and culture during a visit to the Warsaw Rising Museum, Castle Square, and Dom Spotkań z Historią. In between these visits she toured the From Poland with Love open air exhibit on Hoover Square. Deputy Directors Paweł Ukielski and Dariusz Gawin warmly hosted Ambassador Mosbacher at the Warsaw Rising Museum while Director Piotr Jakubowski and Events Manager Katarzyna Puchalska greeted her at Dom Spotkań z Historią. During her visit to the Warsaw Rising Museum, which was her first museum to visit in Poland as Ambassador, Ambassador Mosbacher was profoundly moved by the history and Museum’s presentation of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, calling its exhibitions “powerful” and “breath-taking.” She also commended the Dom Spotkań z Historią on its exhibition which “vividly” recounts the fall of communism in Poland as well as its From Poland with Love exhibit with the American Center Warsaw that features important chapters of Polish-U.S. history a century ago.
