On Monday, December 14, Warsaw PAO Christopher Midura visited the American Corner in Katowice and learned about the variety of programs the Corner offers its wide audience, which includes university students as well as children. The American Corner organizes a variety of events, including public readings, film screenings, speaker programs, workshops, video-conferences and exhibits, and provides information about the United States to the general public via book collections, periodicals, multi-media, and electronic platforms. The American Corner is a partnership between the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow and the University of Silesia, Katowice. The PAO also met with Prof. Dariusz Pawelec, Director of the Scientific Information Centre and the CINiBA Academic Library, and thanked him for his support. Later that day, the PAO met with a group of students from Krakow’s High School No. 4 who visited the Information Resource Center at the U.S. Consulate in Krakow.
